Meet Leslie

Leslie Owen Carmouche | Avoyellian Artist

Hi, I’m Leslie, the artist behind LOCart. I work from my home studio in Marksville, Louisiana, creating paintings inspired by the places, people, and stories that stay with me.

Louisiana shows up in my work again and again—from shrimp boats and coastal birds to the wildlife and familiar details that make this place feel like home. I also paint pieces rooted in faith and the personal stories people trust me to tell.

I work in layers, using acrylics, watercolor, ink, charcoal, and texture. I love letting a painting change as I go. Sometimes the marks I didn’t plan become my favorite part.

Thank you for being here and taking the time to look around. I hope you find a piece that makes you feel something.
